Crorireson is a major world of the Fairport Convention. It is a settled, densely populated, and with high levels of technology. Most of the population is concentrated in large urban centres, much of the intervening countryside dominated by rich agricultural estates where the upper class of society spend as much of their time as possible. the world is wealthier than it ought to be, given high levels of agricultural pastoralism, but more of the planet's wealth is from off world sources.
The planet's principal distinguishing social characteristic is that its society is strictly ordered, and whilst being a democracy, social mobility is limited. The upper layer of society are fond of the metaphor that class structure of this world is reminiscent of the grade structure on a starship, echoing the strong possibility that this world was settled by The Achilles - an original ship of The Leyland Expedition, and who's crew were considered the most disciplined and 'loyalist'. In truth this is a useful cultural device to promote the stability of the planetary social order. It is also worth noting that Crorireson has settled most of the worlds in it's immediate vicinity - mostly when social tensions reached crisis point. The traditional response of the planet's ruling class was to allow opposition factions to settle off world. This his given the planet much access to off world wealth, but also kept the home world socially fossilised, giving it, at times, a somewhat old-fashioned feel.

The quickest way of getting into trouble with the aristocracy on Crorireson is to insult the aristocracy. This may also earn you a round of drinks in 'low rent' drinking establishments - if they are sure there are no law enforcement agents present.
