Dart Class Corporate Cruiser

The Dart is a five hundred ton armed cruiser, common in The Cluster worlds. They are mostly used by executives of the various corporations and Guilds, and a few are in service with the Fairport Convention authorities. They were built to mix range, speed, and weaponry, and there are few faster vessels. These were designed and constructed by the TEMPO yards around Scott's World, are made to order, and only for selected clients.

The key feature of the vessel is 50 tons of flexible space with a bay door fitted. This space  can be configured in a variety of ways. A 20 ton launch could be carried, with 28 tons left for executive accommodation (8 tons each). It could be configured with no ships launch, and 50 tons of pure cargo, or could be all accommodation (up to 12 standard staterooms, with 2 tons spare). Major changes in usage (i.e. the shifting of pressurised bulkheads) would require a refit in a space yard, though at lower TL's than the ship's construction TL of 14.
