Kangeos is the oldest of the colony worlds of Crorireson, settled originally by a splinter group causing trouble for the local aristocracy. Instead of civil war, the leaders of Crorireson settled on colonisation, and packed their dissidents off to Kangeos. Although not easy, Kangeos was not a prison world, and the colony flourished. Good relations were maintained with Crorireson as the home world made no efforts to interfere with matters of self government - indeed seemed to relish the fact that the settlers of Kangeos had departed from Crorireson's somewhat purist stance on matters of social hierarchy.
The colony survived the crash, and played a prominent part in The Wars of Trade, withstanding a Scott's World assault, and thus halting the Scott's advance on Crorireson. As the tide of the war turned, Kangeos acted as a supply base for forces engaged in the Siege of Alrosa, activity which provided a huge stimulus to the world's economy.
Since then, Kangeos has settled into moderate prosperity, serving passing vessels on the trade route between Crorireson and the rest of the cluster, and maintaining a trade in locally produced goods.
The world has a thin atmosphere, combined with it's mountainous and craggy aspect, means that settlement is concentrated in the floors of ravines, often leading up from the fjords that shape extensive coastal regions.
