TEMPO (Board of seven member)

The massive orbital construction firm owes its titanic size to being the originator of the OFC blueprint that underpins much of modern trade. Much of its wealth comes not from actual ship construction (though it does a lot of this), but from the fact that most OFC construction elsewhere is done under license from TEMPO, and also that this company owns the rights to the 'universal connector' - the technology that links cargos pods of a wide variety to the mainstays of OFC ships. It owns six major yards in orbit around Scott's World, and a controlling or substantial stakes in many others around Scott's, and beyond, but has diversified its holdings into electronics and jump-drive construction.

Jump drives do appear to be 'the next big thing' for TEMPO. They have invested considerably in new construction facilities, including a vast space-based factory in orbit around one of the more distant Gas Giants of the Scott's World system. However, TEMPO is undertaking a significant research drive that analysts believe is aimed at delivering a major project in time for the upcoming General Valuation (GV). TEMPO themselves have dampened rumours that this is in pursuit of the holy grail of Jump Drive research - constructing a 'Jump 6' drive. TEMPO have indicated that their research is aimed at exploring improved fuel efficiency of standard drive models.
